~Vider le grenier~ For auction here we have two rare and unusual vintage Bakelite/Catalin/Cherry Amber dice, probably from the 1950’s or earlier. Not your ordinary dice these, they are what I believe to be cheat dice… unless there is a game for dice marked like these that I don’t know about. Three faces of each dice are marked with a five, and three faces are marked with a six. So you can only roll 10, 11, or 12… very unusual indeed! These dice test positive for Bakelite using the metal polish test (turns nicotine yellow). Overall dimensions for each: 22 x 22 x 22mm – about 7/8”each. These dice are old and have been rolled so there are light wares, and some of the dots are discoloured/faded. Should appeal to dice and Bakelite collectors, or perhaps jewellers for remodelling?
